This project will extend the design and construction of a regional system of linear parks, trails and natural areas throughout the entire Union Pacific Railroad (UPRR) Henderson Branch alignment, which runs from the mainline junction west of the I-5 southeast through portions of Clark County and the City of Henderson to its terminus in the center of Boulder City, a total length of just under 21 miles.
The planned UPRR Trail is located within an existing railroad corridor and will extend for approximately 12 miles through the City of Henderson, connecting to the planned 5-mile UPRR Trail located in Clark County and creating a regional trail that is approximately 17 miles in length.
Right of way for the portion located south of Lake Mead Parkway is owned by the City of Henderson, and with the use of SNPLMA (Southern Nevada Public Lands Management Act) funding, trail development has begun in this area. Griffin has also been hired to deliver certain Right-of-Way services, in order to facilitate the development of the 6-mile portion of the corridor north of Lake Mead Parkway (rights of way here are owned by the UPRR).
